Referral Program Terms & Conditions
Last Updated: April 6, 2026
1. Program Overview
The ChurchScroll Referral Program ("Program") allows eligible ChurchScroll members to earn rewards by referring new users to the platform. Each participant receives a unique referral code and shareable link. When a referred friend signs up and subscribes to a paid plan, both the referrer and the friend receive benefits as described below.
2. Eligibility
To participate in the Program, you must:
- Have an active ChurchScroll account in good standing
- Not be suspended or flagged for abuse
- Comply with these terms and ChurchScroll's Terms of Service
3. How Referrals Work
Each participant receives a unique referral code and a shareable link (e.g., churchscroll.com/?ref=YOURCODE). When someone visits ChurchScroll through your link or enters your code during signup, they are attributed to you as a referral.
Attribution: The last code used determines attribution. If a friend arrives through your link but later signs up using a different code, the second code takes precedence. Once a referral is attributed and the friend subscribes, the attribution is permanent.
4. Referrer Rewards
Referral rewards are earned when your referred friends subscribe to a paid ChurchScroll plan. Free signups alone do not trigger rewards.
Current Reward Tiers:
- 1 paid referral: Receive credit equal to one month of your current plan at your discounted rate, applied to your next billing cycle.
- 4 paid referrals: Receive credit equal to one year of your current plan at your discounted rate (inclusive of the one-month credit already earned).
Reward thresholds and values are configured per wave and may differ for future waves. Your rewards are based on the wave you belong to at the time of your referrals.
5. Friend's Benefit
When a referred friend signs up and subscribes to a paid plan during an active wave, they receive that wave's lifetime discount on all platform services. The specific discount percentage depends on the wave that is active at the time they subscribe.
Discount scope: The lifetime discount applies to subscriptions (Member+, Church Pro, Business plans), ad purchases, and other paid platform services. It does not apply to physical merchandise or third-party services accessed through ChurchScroll.
6. Credit Mechanics
- Credits are applied as a balance on your account, which is automatically deducted from your next billing cycle.
- Credits are non-transferable and have no cash value.
- Credits apply to the entity type that matches your referral context: individual referrers receive individual plan credit, church referrers receive church plan credit, and business referrers receive business plan credit.
- If you cancel your subscription, unused credits remain on your account and will apply if you resubscribe.
7. Wave-Specific Terms
ChurchScroll operates a wave-based launch program. Each wave has its own discount percentage and referral reward structure. Key principles:
- Once you are assigned to a wave, your wave discount is permanent. Future waves do not change your discount.
- Referred friends receive the discount of the wave that is active at the time they subscribe, not the referrer's wave.
- When no wave is active, new signups receive standard pricing with no wave discount.
- Referral reward thresholds are set per wave and may change for future waves.
8. Prohibited Conduct
The following activities are prohibited and may result in suspension or removal from the Program:
- Creating fake accounts to generate referrals
- Using referral codes in misleading advertising or spam
- Referring yourself using alternate email addresses
- Any activity designed to fraudulently inflate referral counts
ChurchScroll reserves the right to void referrals, suspend affiliate accounts, and claw back credits associated with fraudulent or abusive activity. Flags are informational — we review flagged activity manually before taking action.
9. Tax Responsibility
Referral credits that exceed $600 in cumulative value within a calendar year may be subject to tax reporting requirements under U.S. law. ChurchScroll will notify you if your earnings approach this threshold. You are responsible for reporting any referral income on your tax returns as required by applicable law.
10. Program Changes
ChurchScroll may modify, suspend, or discontinue the Referral Program at any time. If we make material changes, we will notify active participants via email or in-app notification. Changes do not affect credits already earned or wave discounts already assigned.
